Welcome to the Gare de Vevey Medical Center

Why a medical center at Vevey train station?

The idea of creating a medical center came during discussions about the challenges facing the family physician in the current context. These exchanges led us to consider the following regional needs:

  • Offer pre-hospital triage with referral of situations requiring hospitalization to Rennaz or the CHUV;
  • Promote complementarity and interactions with other private and public actors;
  • Propose a medical offer in case of emergency in the city center;
  • Promote the timely management of simple cases;
  • Allow doctors to dedicate as much time as possible to their patients;
  • Train the next generation and serve as an intergenerational link in the transmission of medical practices;
  • Develop a home medical care solution for the most fragile or unable to travel patients;

From the project to date

SBB wanted to renovate premises in Vevey station and we were interested in creating a medical center with an emergency service. At the end of 2017, we began a reflection on the renovation of the premises, integrating different health actors. We wanted to focus our efforts on the rapid care of patients within the framework of medical permanence as well as general medicine and pediatric consultations.

Renovation work on the medical center began in March 2019. After a year of work, the center opened its doors in February 2020. We offer a medical permanence for emergencies open 7 days a week as well as consultations in general medicine and pediatrics. We also propose consultations in tropical medicine and travel and orthopedic surgery. Our nursing team also provides wound care and perusions.

We have 8 consultation rooms, 5 treatment rooms, a radiology facility and an analysis laboratory.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Centre médical Gare de Vevey.
